Today's theme is "Dont Join The Circus Day." We're not going to join a circus, but we're gonna make one! Your assignment today is to fill each listed circus role with the name of a musician, solo or in a band.
Ringmaster - The Rolling Stones (Their "Rock and Roll Circus" makes them perfect!)
Clown #1 - Alice Cooper (He can sing his song "Can't Sleep, Clowns Will Eat Me")
Clown #2- Grace Jones (She can sing her version of "Send in the Clowns")
Bearded lady - Natalie Merchant (not that she has a beard! She sang "Carnival" and did a music video to "Kind and Generous" with a circus theme.)
Lion tamer - Dire Straits (They can sing "Lions")
High-flying trapeze artist(s)- U2 (They can sing "Acrobat")
Energetic, exciting band to end the night with a rockin' performance - The Beatles (if they were all still around) I would want them to sing "Being for the Benefit of Mrs. Kite"
For the benefit of Mr. Kite
There will be a show tonight on trampoline
The Hendersons will all be there
Late of Pablo Fanques Fair-what a scene
Over men and horses hoops and garters
Lastly through a hogshead of real fire!
In this way Mr. K. will challenge the world!
The celebrated Mr. K.
Performs his feat on Saturday at Bishopsgate
The Hendersons will dance and sing
As Mr. Kite flys through the ring don't be late
Messrs. K and H. assure the public
Their production will be second to none
And of course Henry The Horse dances the waltz!
The band begins at ten to six
When Mr. K. performs his tricks without a sound
And Mr. H. will demonstrate
Ten summersets he'll undertake on solid ground
Having been some days in preparatio
nA splendid time is guaranteed for all
And tonight Mr. Kite is topping the bill.
You not only chose good artists for each category, but a circus-themed song for each one! Very creative! Thanks for mamboing.
