Bye-Bye Blogger
Barring any further incidents, I don't anticipate posting anymore on this blog. You can find me at my new domain, Fleur-de-Lisa.com Bear with me while I work out the kinks on this new blog. Not only do I have my own domain now, but I'm learning WordPress too. This Blogger divorce is long overdue. I think I'll be very happy with my new-found love. Good riddance to bad rubbish!

It ate my blog
Word Press seems to have eaten my blog. So, if you happen to see this you can surf on over to my own domain and see the pitiful beginnings of my new blog.

A Lizzie Quizzie
From the ever-creative Lizzie. Hope the interview went well! 1. Would you rather interview or be interviewed? Interview. I've done more of that. 2. Approximately how many jobs have you had? Fav? Least fav? Somewhere around 6 total. I can't say I have a favorite! 3. What is the best interview advice you have? :) Be prepared, know about the company with whom you're interviewing. 4. Would you rather work at home or away from home? At home, but I don't know how much work I'd get done that way. 5. Have you taken any vacations this summer? If so, where? No. :-( 6. What kind of lunchbox did you have in school? I had many different ones, but a Mickey Mouse Club one sticks out in my mind. 7. What is your favorite kind of cookie? Snickerdoodles or my grandmother's sour cream sugar cookies. 8. Besides mine (ahem), what is your favorite meme to play? Well, besides my own meme, Manic Monday, I love playing SPF on Friday. 9. On a scale from 1-10, how romantic are you? 7 10. Two's company, three's a ______________. menage a trois....Oops, this isn't TMI Tuesday yet! LOL

Manic Monday
Got Gas? 1. Do you find yourself driving less due to the high gas prices? Perhaps just a bit- I tend to consolidate trips more often now. 2. This week, Exxon Mobil reported quarterly profits of more than $10.3 billion, the second-best quarter ever for a U.S. company. As we're paying, on average, $3.00 per gallon here in the U.S., do you think the oil companies are using the conflict in the Mid-East as an excuse to gouge consumers? Absolutely, but it's still no excuse. 3. According to the Department of Energy, adjusted for inflation, the price of gasoline is still below its all time peak back in 1981. Back in 1981 the average new car got 21 miles per gallon. Today the average new car gets 22 miles per gallon. Why do you think there hasn't been more innovation and progress in this area? I think there's been little progress in this area because as consumers we have not demanded that auto makers create more fuel-efficient or more alternative fuel vehicles. The law of supply and demand at work...

Unconscious Mutterings
Free association is described as a "psychonanalytic procedure in which a person is encouraged to give free rein to his or her thoughts and feelings, verbalizing whatever comes into the mind without monitoring its content." Over time, this technique is supposed to help bring forth repressed thoughts and feelings that the person can then work through to gain a better sense of self. That's an admirable goal, but for the purposes of this excercise, we're just hoping to have a little fun with the technique. Each week I'll post ten words to which you can respond to with the first thing that comes to mind
  1. Italy :: Rome
  2. Honk :: Horn
  3. Shades :: Sunglasses
  4. Tool :: Belt
  5. Modern :: Art
  6. Tension :: Headache
  7. Conservative :: Republican
  8. Weight :: Loss
  9. Insurance :: Claim
  10. Political :: Debate
