I knew it....Don't tell anyone, but I'm a registered Republican. I try not to let that word out on the street. I do know why I'm 25% liberal on social issues- gay marriage. That bumped my rating up a few points on liberalism, I'm certain of that.
This in no way means I'm a fan of "W"- let's get that clear here and now!

Saturday Six
1. When is the last time you switched from one company to another for an important service? What made you switch? Did the company you were leaving try to make you a better offer to make you stay? I changed from one ISP to another when I moved into my new house 2 years ago. My old company didn't try to woo me back in any way. 2. What emblem or logo was on the last coffee mug you drank from? I like to drink from my "I dreamed my whole house was clean" Anne Taintor mug that I got a few weekends ago. I need a new mug for work. Something that no one else will this is her own. I don't like other people drinking from my mug. 3. On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being a world-class chef and 1 being someone who can't even scramble an egg, how would you rate your cooking ability? I'll give myself an 8. 4. Take the quiz: Are you a good cook?
You Are an Excellent Cook
You're a top cook, but you weren't born that way. It's taken a lot of practice, a lot of experimenting, and a lot of learning. It's likely that you have what it takes to be a top chef, should you have the desire...
Are You A Good Cook?
5. When was the last time you prepared a meal for someone other than yourself or those already living with you? Was it well received? I have no idea. 6. Since it is that time of year, what show's season finale are you most looking forward to? Which show do you wish would just go away? I am looking forward to the CSI finale and the final finale of Will and Grace. I just love that Karen and her alter-ego, Anastasia Beaverhausen!

Good Day Sunshine A great flash video rendering of Dear Prudence Revolution #9 backwards. Remember when the "White Album" came out and we were worried that Paul might be dead? Remember ruining our needles playing songs backwards searching for hidden messages? Remember wondering what the entire song of "Revolution #9" would sound like backwards? Come Together flash animation can be found here And yet another flash animation - this one of I Feel Fine
"A photograph of John Lennon's spectacles, bloodstained from when he was fatally shot outside his New York apartment building, sold at auction on April 17 for about $13,000. This image entitled "Season of Glass" was taken by the musician's wife, Yoko Ono, in 1981 and is one of only six such."

Brain Gender
Stolen from Cat! I've been making a habit of that lately. The result is amusing, but not really surprising. However, I would disagree completely that I wear my heart on my sleeve. That's not something I'd consider doing, it's just not me. Most of the time, how I'm feeling isn't "out there" on the surface. Those few people who can read me know what non-verbal signs to look for in me to figure out what's going on.
Your Brain is 47% Female, 53% Male
Your brain is a healthy mix of male and female You are both sensitive and savvy Rational and reasonable, you tend to keep level headed But you also tend to wear your heart on your sleeve

Friday Forum
1. If you could have any famous author write your biography, who would it by and why? The first person that comes to mind for some reason is Truman Capote. He'd have just the right flair to "do me right." Seeing as he's dead, that isn't going to happen. I'd rather wait until I'm gone too, if there were to be a biography about me. I'm too private in many ways to want to have all the "interesting details" spilled while I'm alive! 2. Name one song that best describes you. "Extraordinary" by Liz Phair am extraordinary, if you'd ever get to know me I am extraordinary, I am just your ordinary Average every day sane psycho Supergoddess Average every day sane psycho You may not believe in me But I believe in you So I still take the trash out Does that make me too normal for you? So dig a little deeper, cause You still don't get it yet See me lickin' my lips, need a primitive fix And I'll make, I'll make you love me I am extraordinary, if you'd ever get to know me I am extraordinary, I am just your ordinary Average every day sane psycho Supergoddess Average every day sane psycho Supergoddess 3. If you could visit any country in the world, which one would it be and why? Most likely Denmark (even though I hate to be cold!) I'd like to be able to see where my grandfather grew up and visit his family's property. 4. Which celebrity do you most resemble? I've been told Laura Dern. You can see what celebrity you most resemble by going here and uploading your photo. It's fun to see what it comes up with! 5. What is your number one fear? Most definitely snakes.

I've been told that I look like my mother and my older sister. 4. Do you want / do you have any children of your own? I have one son. 5. Special plans for Mother's Day? Thursday Threesome
::Moon River:: Onesome: We're after the same rainbow's end- What's your pot of gold at the end of the rainbow? Happiness, true friendship, money? Inner peace. It's fairly elusive.... Twosome: Waiting around the bend- Anything interesting coming just 'round the bend for you? That's awfully hard to say, but I certainly hope so. I enjoy anticipation and looking forward to things to come.
Perhaps he knew, as I did not, that the Earth was made round so that we would not see too far down the road. - Karen Blixen
Threesome: My Huckleberry friend- Huckleberries, what are they anyway?? Seriously though, what's the strangest fruit you've ever eaten? Did you like it or hate it? I know Huckleberry Finn and Huckleberry Hound but I don't know what a huckleberry is. I've eaten starfruit and plantains in Hawaii and they were good.

To Tell The Truth Part Cinq
From the always fabulous Irish Church Lady- You must pick one or the other from each item below. Either state which applies most to you or state your preference. If neither or both apply to you then for the sake of silliness you score a point. Points are bad, people! (But that doesn't mean you should lie just to avoid getting a point ... hee hee) At the end you figure out your total score by subtracting your points from 10. OK? Ready, set, go ... (I'll tell you at the bottom what your score means - it's based on highly scientific surveys! LMAO!) 41..Raisins or grapes? grapes 42..TV or music? music 43..SAHM (or SAHD) or work? I'd rather be a SAHM, but I work. 44..boating or hiking? boating 45..rap or punk? punk 46..Mushrooms or onions? mushrooms 47..Going downtown or going uptown? downtown 48..Truth or dare? dare! 49..Monkeys or walruses? walruses, I hate monkeys. 50..Chiropractor or physiotherapy? chiropractor- I love all that crunching! It appears that I'm definitely definitive this week. What's your score mean? 9-10 - My, aren't we definitive this week! 5 - 8 - Life is full of ups and downs ... but hmmpf, ... who cares? ;) 0 - 4 - I wish I were an Oscar Meyer wiener. :O So don't forget to tell us your score ay? Inquiring minds want to know and don't want to have to do the math for u. Thanks for playing and sharing ... you know we always want the info.

TMI Tuesday
1. After a night of great sex, who do you tell? How much? I never kiss and tell. Never, ever, ever! 2. Should prostitution be legal? I don't agree with it, on basic principle. However, I don't believe that the "oldest profession" is ever going to cease, therefore I feel that making it legal would reduce some of the allure and help keep it better regulated thereby reducing the spread of STD's. 3. On a scale from 1-10, how selfish are you? 3- not nearly enough sometimes! 4. Name something you haven't tried, but have been thinking about trying. I can't think of anything at the moment. 5. If you could have sex with any celebrity, who would you pick and why? (and don't think of this question as cheating... you aren't attached at the time, k?) :) Come on now, I have one good arm at the moment, what celebrity would want to have sex with me right about now? Ha HA! Unless there's a strange fetish out there about sex with people in arm slings. And if that is the case, I wouldn't want to have sex with the person who had said fetish! So, that takes us back to sqare one... I think I've answered a similar question in a past post, here. Bonus (as in "optional"): Have you ever dyed your pubic hair or shaved it in a pattern? Nope.

It Must Be My "Magnetic" Personality!

I had my MRI yesterday. I had to hand over my bra (might have metal in it), my jewelry (ditto) and lie perfectly still while Velcro-ed down to a table. Sounds like a bad date I once went on. (I'm just kidding!)

As I was seeing the orthopedic this morning, I got a copy of the MRI on CD to take with me. Of course, my curious nature took over and I had to pop it into my own computer to take a look. Like I know what I am looking at! Still, it was an interesting thing to me. I have a digital x-ray system at my work, so it was fascinating to compare the abilities of the programs. I don't know a thing about shoulders, so this shot of my MRI looks a bit like a slab of a ham steak. Just another reason why I will never eat ham. I detest the stuff. Anyhow, I digress...

I had my meeting with the ortho. doctor this morning, as I've already stated. For some reason, he couldn't get all 15 views of the MRI to open, just this first "ham steak" one pictured above. It wasn't really enough for him to see what was going on. They did take 4 x-rays and I did not break (or re-break) my clavicle. I did that a few years ago with a kayak.

He did say that I separated my shoulder and tore some of the ligaments in there. I have to do some physical therapy exercises, ice and heat and wear this stupid sling for at least another week and a half.

The good thing is, I hurt my left shoulder and I'm mainly right handed. But I'm also amazed that you really need two arms/hands for many, many things!

Things I can do with only one arm:

  1. Drive (just don't call me on my cell phone unless I have my Bluetooth on!)
  2. Type (okay, I still use the left hand, just in a limited way.)
  3. Hold a glass of wine (but opening the bottle is a bitch! I'm just kidding- I haven't had any wine.)
  4. Talk on the phone (but not while doing #1, #2 or #3)
Obviously, I've lost my ability to multi-task with this injury.

I'm currently at a loss for anything else...any suggestions?

Curious As A Cat
It's Monday Morning and I'm Curious.... What are some of the things in your life that you feel you honestly deserve? Deserve is such a touchy word with me. I believe that if you feel you deserve the "good" things that happen in your life, on the flip side, you would therefore deserve the "bad" things too. I am all for personal responsibility and free will. But I don't think that "bad" things happen only to "bad" people. What is the best gift you've ever received? The best gift I've ever received is my Canon Digital Rebel I got for Christmas this year. It's the gift that keeps on giving to me!

(¯`'•.¸(¯`'•.¸A Lizzie Quizzie!¸.•'´¯)¸.• 1. How much tv do you watch a day? Very little. I have the news on in the morning while I'm getting ready but that's about it. 2. On a scale of 1-10, how "handy" are you around the house? About a 3. It was a major miracle that I hung my own curtains a few weeks ago. 3. Do you use air freshener, incense, or other smelly things in your home? :) No, I don't really like those things. I like to have fresh flowers in my house though. I do have a great candle next to my bathtub by the Tyler Candle Company that I bought at Twentyfive Home Store. I love that place! 4. Approximately how many days are you sick a year? It seems so far this year I've been sick about half of the time! 5. If you could redo any room in your home right now, which would you choose? Why? I'd love to have the finished half of my basement re-done. It's been over taken by my son and I'd like to recapture at least some of it for a bar area and perhaps a poker table and pool table. 6. Have you ever had a nice fish tank? If so, fresh or salt water? I've had a few. I had a saltwater tank a long time ago when I was married. My son has a small tank of his own in his room now. His fish live forever! 7. Would you ever want to get a makeover? No thanks. 8. What is your favorite thing to do on weekends? Sleep in just a bit, lounge around in jammies while drinking an entire pot of coffee, shoot some photos, spend time with my fam, enjoy some great conversation over a bottle of wine and cook a meal (when I have both arms to do so!) 9. Send us to a cool webby! Lulu.com - Publish and Sell your work Bacpack.com- Getting organized couldn't be easier Zillow.com- Get home values and a bird's eye view of the address entered 10. Monday's A Bitch
Old Skool 1. What book were you forced to read in English class that made you want to gouge your eyes out? I'm a big lit fan, so I enjoyed most of the classics we had to read. I'd say the one I disliked the most was Johnny Tremain. I don't know why exactly, as I normally enjoy historical pieces. But I'm not much of a Revolutionary War period buff. 2. What was your best elementary school science project? I did a really enjoyable one on optical illusions. I still think they're interesting. 3. What was your favourite thing to do at recess? Tetherball and four square. 4. Did you ever participate in a school play? I was in many, many school plays up through middle school. I didn't take drama class in high school so I couldn't be in the productions. 5. Describe your most embarrassing school photo or early fashion faux pas. (Bonus points if you have a picture to post ;)) I have the photo, but Blogger's being naughty and won't let me post pictures. I was in kindergarten and I had a red polyester jumpsuit with white stitching on it. It had those huge, wide collars on it and bell bottom legs. Absoulutely hideous!

Pop Culture Pesonality Quiz
1) In high school I was _______________. shy (believe it or not!) a National Honor Society student and much too well-behaved for my own good! 2) If I were to be on "American Idol" my audition song would be ____________. Barefoot by K D Lang. It's not really in my vocal range (way too low for my voice) but this is all in imagination anyhow (as I really don't sing well) and I admire a smooth yet deep voice on a woman so I'm going with what I like, not what I should do. 3) Choose One: Simon/Garfunkle - Paul Simon Window Seat/Aisle Seat - Window seat Desperate Housewives/Soprano's - Soprano's 4) After a long hard day, I like to kick back with _______________. a good glass of wine, a book or a soak in my tub. 5) The first R-rated movie I ever saw was ____________________. I can't recall the name of the movie my friend and I were trying to go see. We were about 14 or 15 and her father dropped us off at the theater. The guy working there asked to see our ID's and of course we didn't have any. So instead of seeing the R-rated movie (with the name that escapes me) we were forced into seeing the film "King David." We were the only 2 people in the theater, so to liven things up a bit we danced on top of the seats and played cards. 6) The first person I call when I have good news ________________. is B, as she's always happy to share 7) What is in my glove compartment: ________________________. Title and regisration (of course) plus the instuction manual on my car that I've never read and a pair of extra gloves and earmuffs left over from winter. 8) My porn name is:____________________________________. (childhood pet's name + Street You Grew Up On) Princess Glenwood
