Fat Tuesday
My son goes to private school. They've been gearing up for Mardi Gras. Which seems like a foreign concept to me, as I went to public school. He's been focusing on his Mardi Gras mask in art class. His is a cat of some sorts. No big surprise to me. I'm sure the mask is in memory of his cat Toulouse. I'm wondering what kind of celebration the school is planning? I picture all of these boys and girls in their prim uniforms wearing beads and grasping handfuls of doubloons while devouring a King Cake. Personally, when I think of Mardi Gras beads, I think of one thing- boobs. I've never been to Mardi Gras, so I could have it all wrong. But the thought of thousands of people wearing masks, potentially clown masks, it scares the hell out of me.
