In Other Words...
This Week's Quote It is good to be without vices, but it is not good to be without temptations. -- Walter Bagehot, "Biographical Studies", 1863 I have two favorite quotes about temptation: "I generally avoid temptation unless I can't resist it." Mae West "The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it." Oscar Wilde, The Picture of Dorian Gray, 1891 I don't have many vices myself, unless you count the occasional glass of wine ( I don't count that as a vice at all). But I certainly enjoy thinking about a temptation or two. It keeps me on my toes and my creative juices flowing. I certainly don't subscribe to the idea that thinking about the sin is the same a committing the sin. Way too harsh for me. I'm not talking serious sin here. Remember, I grew up Methodist. We weren't heavy hitting on defining every little thing as a sin.
